MAIN FEATURES

MCAS performs remote control and monitoring of the propulsion system and its auxiliaries; the core of MCAS is the Propulsion Control System (PCS), which manages complex naval propulsion configurations based on SEASTEMA’s know-how in the control of combined propulsion systems with Gas Turbine, Electric and/or Diesel Engine.
 

To optimize PCS design for such complex configurations, SEASTEMA performs Dynamic Response Analysis using SIL/HIL simulation models.

EPCAMS performs control and monitoring of the main power plant and manages the power distribution through the Power Management System (PMS) sub-module.

ASCS performs control and monitoring of the Auxiliary Systems, Hull Services and Safety Systems.
The modular architecture of the system allows customizing the automation system according to the specific operational requirements of the naval operator. In particular the following automation sub-systems can be added to IPMS to provide a complete ship management solution.

BDCS supports the Damage Control Operator in the management of vessel safety, with special reference to emergency situations. In particular, it:

  • graphically presents to the operator a synthetic view of the status of the safety systems, filtering out the cluttering information and allowing to add manual information with the Electronic Incident Board (EIB) function;

  • assists the operator in the implementation of the mitigation actions through static and dynamic kill-cards, customized according to the ship operational requirements.

BDCS generally includes the On-Board Stability Software (OBSS), a sub-system assisting the operator in the management of vessel safety regarding ship stability, both in normal (intact) and emergency (damage) situations.

ICAS has the primary scope to support maintenance operations onboard by assessing the heat status of critical equipment, in particular the Propulsion Plant and the Power Plant, through continuous performance data monitoring, collection, storage and trend analysis.

It is able to perform on-line diagnostics of complex machinery by benchmarking actual performance with expected (baseline) performance and combining process and vibration data by means of radar-charts. It further has a prognosticcapability by projecting the results of the diagnostic analysis forward in time to predict machinery health status in the near-future.

OBTS provides a HW replica of the IPMS work-stations and a SW replica of the IPMS control systems in order to train onboard the IPMS operators in a safe virtual environment which reproduces the real control functions without interacting with the real systems.

SEASTEMA also provides a bridge solution between IPMS and the on-shore logistic/ training centers of the naval operator. In particular on-board ICAS and OBTS have their on-shore counterparts, namely:

  • L-CBM (Land-Based CBM) system

  • LBTS (Land-Based Training System)

 

SEASNavy™ is able to offer naval Integrated Bridge System (IBS) solutions, which allow integrated monitoring and control functions of Platform and Navigation systems from its own Multi-Functional workstations, through integration of third-party navigation systems but also by providing proprietary systems such as its latest, proprietary autopilot SEASPilot™, which was delivered to the latest units of the Italian Navy.
